The Italian two-wheeler
maker Aprilia is set to ride its superbike Aprilia RSV4 into India. The
company, owned by Piaggio, is known for its race-winning super bikes.
The 1000cc bike Aprilia
RSV4 will be launched in India in 2011 in two variants – Factory and R.
The bike will offer a better than expected performance to Indian speed
lovers. The bike will be equipped with various features, picked up from
their experience in racing. Powered by DOHC technology, the two-wheeler
will have an electric digital ignition integrated in fuel management
system. Aprilia RSV4 is likely to be priced from Rs. 16 lakh to Rs. 20
lakh for the Factory and R models.
Aprilia RSV4 has fuel
tank capacity of 17 litres. The fuel system of the bike is injection
type with indirect multi point electronic injection, 4 throttle bodies
and 8 injectors and airbox. Piaggio had displayed Aprilia RSV4 at Mumbai
International Motor Show, 2011. The Indian super bike segment is
steadily growing and many luxury bike makers have launched their
products in the country. Recently iconic bike makers Harley Davidson and
Ducati have come to India.
