Indian motorcycle market is going through a new boom with more enthusiasts pimping themselves with imported exotics. India is now being subjected as One of the important market for the premium launches that used to happen only in foreign countries a few years ago.
The latest launch comes from the Japanese automobile giant , Suzuki , which already has several premium bikes lined up in the country. To make its Indian portfolio stronger , Suzuki Motorcycles recently introduced the Intruder M800 for a price tag of Rs. 8.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Intruder M800 is equipped with 805cc fuel-injected , liquid cooled , 2-cylinder , 8-valve V-Twin powerhouse which generates 53 horses at 6000 rpm and makes 62 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. With looks of elder sibling , the Intruder M1800R , which is already prevalent in India , this scaled downed version is launched as entry level cruiser with aim to take on the bikes from Harley Davidson , Hyosung etc. This technologically laden motorcycle has advantage of Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) which delivers high torque with crisp throttle response; also the automatic Idle Speed Control (ISC) eliminates the choke and shortens the engine warm-up time. The precise control of the bike is the result of 32-bit-processor Engine Control Module (ECM) and to cut the emissions the bike has been fitted with Pulsed AIR (PAIR) injection system.
With tonnes of Chrome all over the body and engine , the bike has a retro cruiser feel attached to it. The headlamps which gives the identity to the Intruder M1800 is also present in this version of the cruiser. The instrument cluster is integrated with the headlamp and boasts of fuel gauge and clock. The chrome finish of the machine is present on the wheels too; with 16 inch front wheel resting on inverted 41mm forks adds to the sporty look of the baby Intruder. The all new LED tail-light following the 15-inch rear wheel looks bulky and gorgeous.
With a price tag almost half of Intruder M1800R , this new bike will be for the bikers who always wanted to own an Intruder but never had the courage to shell out so much of cash.
