After the success of
its 125cc bike SlingShot, Suzuki Motorcycles India is set to launch a
100 cc bike in India. It is a smart move by the company as the
entry-level bikes have around 50% share in the Indian bike market. The
100cc Suzuki bike may be introduced in July this year.
The 100cc bike by
Suzuki will be targeted at the mass market and will be fuel-efficient
and economical. The bike may be priced at Rs. 35000 to Rs. 40000. Suzuki
is expecting most of the demand for its 100cc bike from small towns and
rural areas of the country. Expect the bike to look basic and have
different variants to suit a variety of buyers. As is the case with
Suzuki motorcycles, the bike is expected to offer good comfort and value
for money to its buyers.
The entry-level segment
of the bike industry is soon to see some hot competition with the
impending launch of a 100cc bike by Honda, which is aiming for a larger
share of the market after snapping ties with Hero Group of India.
